Wash it!

Check out our 7 best tips to washing your jeans, so you'll get years of wear out of them.

  1. Wash your jeans inside-out at 30 degrees, use a colour protective detergent.
  2. Don't use fabric softener when washing your jeans, because this will affect the elasticity of your item.
  3. Don't wash your embroidered or embellished jeans in a washing machine. Instead put the jeans in cold water (no detergent!) for 10 minutes.
  4. Less is more! Your jeans will stay in much better condition with minimal washing. Denim will wear out much quicker with frequent washes.
  5. Freeze it! If you'd still rather wash your jeans frequently, try putting them in a plastic bag and placing it in the freezer. The extreme cold kills all the bacteria, without having to wash your jeans in the washing machine.
  6. Don't put your jeans in the tumble dryer. The fibres in your denim will stay much stronger if you just leave your jeans to air dry.
  7. Turn your jeans inside-out when ironing them.

Size

What is your actual jeans size? The answer is definitely worth knowing before buying new pants. Check out the following steps to figuring out your jeans size, all you need is a measuring tape!

Step 1. Measuring your waist siz

Your waist is the 'narrowest' part of your upper body, pull the measuring tape from your back and pull it around the waist. Always make sure the measuring tape is straight, and don't pull it too tight, you want it around as tight as you'd like your jeans to be.

Step 2. Measuring your hip size

The hip size is measured around the 'widest' part of your lower body. Set your feet next to each other in a natural position, then pull the measuring tape from behind over your bum to your front and across the widest area of your thighs. Again, make sure the tape is straight and not pulled too tight.

Step 3. Measuring the inner sea

This measurement is only relevant when buying trousers that have a length size, which isn't always the case. The inner seam is measured from the top of your inner thigh to just over the ankle, using a sturdy measuring tape.

Once you've measured the 3 areas you can determine your required size by checking out our handy size guide!
