Our Clothing Materials 

At My Jewellery, we take responsibility for a sustainable future, for ourselves and for the generations to come. That’s why we’re making increasingly conscious choices, starting with the materials we use. Our goal is to eventually build a collection made up of more and more sustainable and certified materials. We consider a product sustainable when it contains at least 30% sustainable, certified materials.

To support our journey towards using more sustainable materials, we’ve developed the My Jewellery Materials Ranking. This list includes all the materials we use and provides insight into their environmental impact, based on recognised industry standards such as Textile Exchange and MODINT. The tool ranks materials from Class A (best choice) to Class E (not suitable), helping us shape our sustainability targets. Our buyers and designers use this tool and its targets to make well-informed decisions. My Jewellery’s more sustainable products are easy to spot thanks to an extra hangtag or label, where you’ll find more detailed information.

We’d love to tell you more about the materials we use. The materials in our textile collection can be divided into natural, synthetic, and cellulose-based fibres. More sustainable alternatives are currently mainly used for cotton, viscose and recycled polyester. Each material has its own unique characteristics and appearance. At My Jewellery, we also know that when you buy something you love, you want it to last. That’s why we’ve created a care guide for each material, helping you keep your items in top condition. Learn how to clean, protect and maintain your most treasured pieces. And don’t forget to always check the care label in your garment, it contains the most up-to-date instructions on how to best care for your My Jewellery item!

We’ve started collecting pre-loved fabrics from 2022 onwards with the goal to use this old clothing & fabrics to create new products. Our goal is to incorporate even more post-consumer waste into our products in the future! To be continued…!
