Sharon Hilgers - Founder My Jewellery
Sharon Hilgers founded My Jewellery in the summer of 2011, when her passion for jewellery led her to start a website followed by the first boutique in Den Bosch a few years later. My Jewellery rapidly grew online and established a thriving like-minded and fashion-forward community. We have since opened multiple boutiques which each represent that same quintessentially My Jewellery vibe throughout, so that when our customers set foot in our boutique they feel our passion and love for jewellery.
Sharon Hilgers isn’t the only one heavily involved with My Jewellery, as her partner Vilmar Bliekendaal, her sister Jesse Hilgers and her parents play a major part in this family business. From the very beginning My Jewellery has received a lot of media attention for its noteworthy approach to business & building a brand around connection. What started as an online & social media business, grew into a company with boutiques across The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, more than 2 million social media followers & a team of 600+ colleagues working towards our growth and ambitions.
Entrepreneurship prizes
Sharon Hilgers has been nominated for a variety of entrepreneurship awards: Sprout 25 under 25, EY Entrepreneur of the year, and, most recently, the award for fastest growing company with a female CEO at NL Groeit. My Jewellery and Sharon Hilgers also garnered national attention outside the direct target audience by appearing in the programme: “Jaar in goed gezelschap” on NPO1, which followed a year in her life as an entrepreneur.

What started out as selling handmade jewellery on a picnic blanket on the beach grew into a massive imperium. Sharon Hilgers is everything but a one-hit wonder! With dreams that seemed unachievable, she’s gone on to prove that even your biggest dreams can become a reality if you just work hard enough. Her story is inspiring to all young entrepreneurs! What makes Sharon Hilgers different from other business people? Well, My Jewellery was built without investors and everything is kept in-house, making it extra unique to have achieved the Quote 500 position. What started as a girl’s dream grew into a webshop, 36 boutiques and more than 600 employees. Sharon Hilgers put My Jewellery on the map and turned it into an institution.
