Materials make a difference. That is why we are committed to using responsibly sourced materials, with care for both the environment and social responsibility. While we are still on our journey, we are steadily increasing the use of recycled, renewable and other lower-impact materials. In this way, we continue to work towards a more responsible future.
For clothing, we aim for at least 30% of our clothing products to contain 50% or more sustainable materials, increasing to 50% of our products by 2030.
To help us make conscious choices, we have developed a preferred materials guideline. This goes beyond the look and feel of a fabric by also considering its overall environmental impact. The guideline is based on recognised standards such as Textile Exchange and MODINT.
Our internal tool assesses materials across five categories, ranging from Class A (best choice) to Class E (not suitable). This helps our buyers and designers make well-informed decisions. Currently, we classify items as more responsible when at least 50% of the main fabric consists of certified organic, recycled or other lower-impact materials. These items are recognisable by our dedicated hangtags and labels.
In addition, we share information about the materials used in every item and provide care instructions to help extend each product’s lifespan. By helping customers make more conscious choices and offering practical care and repair tips, we aim to contribute to longer-lasting products and encourage more mindful consumption.
