What is an Indian summer?

Don’t you just love the sound of an Indian Summer? Well, the origins of an Indian summer are just as magical. Indian summer is the term used for that period in autumn, when the temperatures are unusually warm for the time of year and it just feels like summer has come back or been extended for a while. The term originated in The US and was used to describe those autumn days that are unusually sunny and warm with sparkling blue skies, the only indication that it’s actually autumn being the changing of the leaves on the trees from green to orange, yellow and red. When the sunlight catches the red leaves and the world gets a gorgeous warm glow. Indian summers can occur from the end of September to the beginning of November, but it can only happen once autumn has officially started on 21st September. Of course such a beautiful time of year deserves a beautiful wardrobe too, which is why we created this page full of Indian summer clothing inspiration just for you! Check out all of the gorgeous autumnal colours in our Indian summer collection and discover how you can float through the Indian summer in absolutely glowing style.
