Colleague Willianne van Horssen
Position: Buying & Supply Chain Coordinator
How long have you been working at My Jewellery?
I’ve been here since November 2018, so that’s 3 years!
Can you tell us a little about your daily tasks?
My main responsibility is to safeguard our commercial planning. I make sure my colleagues in the warehouse and at the boutiques have enough time to process the items before we launch a new collection. I also do daily checks on our sales to make sure new items and (extra)orders are in stock at the right time. To do this I make agreements with our suppliers about how and when they’re allowed to deliver certains orders. In addition I also support the buyers with all kinds of logistical tasks and act as the link between HQ and our warehouse when it comes to incoming goods.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I most enjoy supporting large projects from a logistical perspective. For instance, collaborations with big brands, but also our yearly Advent Calendar. It’s really fun to work on something with a team, every working from their area of expertise, and making it into a success together!
What work are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of the growth the Purchasing Team has made in the last 2.5 years. We started with 4 people 2.5 years ago, and now we’re a proper ‘grown-up’ team of 12 colleagues. We used to make decisions based on gut and experience, whereas now we have lots of data and dashboards to guide us in our decision making. We also used to make various lists to keep track of the admin, and now most of of our business is properly registered in a system. All of this means we can focus more on dropping wonderful new collections and items!

Can you tell us a little about your daily tasks?
Trend-watching, creating & setting-up the clothing collections. Every day contact with production suppliers, judging colour and quality of the materials, and analysing sales to help guide us to even better collections.
What do you enjoy most about your work?

What work are you most proud of?
I love that there have been so many changes to the My Jewellery collection since I started here 3 years ago. I also like that we’ve managed to service a larger target audience with better quality and sizing. And I especially love that we’ve managed to achieve all of this with a great team!

Colleague Marije Severijnen
Position: Print Designer
How long have you been working at My Jewellery?
I started in January 2021, so close to a year!
Can you tell us a little about your daily tasks?
My daily tasks include looking for inspiration and translating those ideas into the My Jewellery style. Next I design artworks of all-over prints, after which the team and I look at which prints and colour schemes we think work best. Finally, I make a document with the print and all of its relevant information: print techniques, dimensions and colours. These can then be sent to our suppliers.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I especially enjoy designing artwork for shirts and sweaters. Besides that I also really enjoy developing all-over prints. The variation between those tasks is perfect! Furthermore, I love being able to work on prints for different product groups, one moment you’re designing for clothing and the next it could be swimwear.
What work are you most proud of?
Oh that’s a tricky one because I’m still fairly new at My Jewellery. But what I love most, is seeing customers walking the streets wearing prints or artwork that I designed, that feels like such a huge compliment!
Colleague Willemijn Benders
Position: Sizing specialist
How long have you been working at My Jewellery?
I only started in February of this year, so it hasn’t been that long.
Can you tell us a little about your daily tasks?
My main focus is the fit of our garments and making sure the sizing is correct, or is improved where needed. My day consists mainly of measuring and fitting all of the new samples that come in on a daily basis. I take notes and tell our buyers so they can liaise with our suppliers. That way we’re all working together to offer the best quality items!
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love fitting the samples! That’s when I get my first impression of what the garment looks like on someone. That’s when the buyers and I determine what we want to change, which makes it extra exciting when we get the revised sample and see how our changes have improved it!Omdat ik er nog maar zo kort werk vind ik het moeilijk om dat nu al te zeggen.
What work are you most proud of?
That’s a really difficult question. Ultimately, I hope that my work shows in the improved fit and sizing of our new collections. I’m also really proud of how the team has welcomed me with open arms and has been able to adapt so quickly to my new role within the team!
