Colleague Petra Gebbinck
Role: Data Analyst

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?
Since February 2021, so almost 10 months.

Can you tell us a little something about your daily tasks?
As Data Analyst I’m responsible for processing and analysing data, to be able to support and advise all of the departments within My Jewellery. There are tonnes of possibilities within data, because My Jewellery is such a young, innovative and growing company. Some weeks you’ll start with an analysis for the purchasing department, next you’re providing MT with the correct reports and then you’ll finish a task for customer service. The great thing about this role is that you have to adjust and function between different departments so you end up seeing the results of what you’ve been working on really quickly.

What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of the speed of My Jewellery’s growth, and the way the data-team plays into that. We test new tools and innovations on a weekly basis and try to implement them as well, that way we’re always one step ahead.

What do you enjoy most about working for the tech team at My Jewellery?
The BI team at My Jewellery is a hard-working and ambitious team, where we always try to help each other, and free up time for post-work drinks, team-building and fun catch-ups. The developments within the team and the growth of My Jewellery have created a really great work environment.

Colleague Arthur Nazarian
Role: Data Scientist

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?
Since July 2021.

Can you tell us a little something about your daily tasks?
My Jewellery is a fast growing company and doing the right things at the right time can make a huge difference. That’s why I’ve developed a method in which our data scientists can programme our self-developed roles well. I do this so that in the future we’ll be able to implement changes and complex new issues. Long story short: the goal is to be able to run the business better and faster in the future!

What are you most proud of?
In a few months time, I’m hoping to be able to say that our “demand planning” process has become better, more efficient and more effective for both the data-science side of things and the supply-chain side of things.

What do you enjoy most about working for the tech team at My Jewellery?
We’re efficient but also very involved with each other’s work. AN equally important element to our work is the freedom we’re given to explore our own initiatives. It’s a really great environment where I’m encouraged to be creative and make a lasting positive impact.

Colleague Rein Sint Nicolaas
Role: Assistant Business Intelligence

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?
One year!

Can you tell us a little something about your role?
When I started out, I mainly supported the BI Team for different projects. Later on I started to get involved with Data Science projects, such as creating models in which we’ll be able to predict order numbers in the future, and trying to measure the emotional levels of customer service messages.

What are you most proud of?
It always makes me happy to create models that will optimise certain processes, thereby making the lives of my colleagues a lot easier.

What do you enjoy most about working for the tech team at My Jewellery?
My Jewellery has grown super quickly as a company, which means you’re given a lot of responsibility early on and you’re offered a lot of challenging projects. The job is also very varied, from working on marketing projects to assignments for the warehouse. In terms of data, we’ve already discovered a lot of fun and interesting information that we’ll be able to do a lot with.

Colleague Anna Berg
Role: Graduating intern BI-team

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?
Since September 2921

Can you tell us something about your role?
My internship mainly revolves around my thesis project. So my main focus is on predicting the number of incoming messages the customer service team at My Jewellery can expect. I do this with the help of programmes such as PowerBI, Python and Big Query. Other than that, I work with my colleagues to get the best results.

What are you most proud of?
I feel proud every time I manage to resolve an error in the programming code.

What do you enjoy most about working at My Jewellery?
At My Jewellery the focus lies on teamwork, development and health. IT’s a young team with lots of cool projects and ideas coming up in the future, and the same goes for the BI/Tech Team. From the beginning it’s always been a data driven business with lots of opportunities for cool projects. Plus, as an added bonus, it’s always cool to work for a young and ambitious team with a great atmosphere, post-work drinks and chat breaks.
