The finance team is responsible for maintaining an accurate & complete financial administration, which includes: salary processes, archiving incoming and outgoing invoices and supporting other departments at My Jewellery with their administrative tasks. The team is here to tell us all about their roles at My Jewellery.

Marc Zijlmans - Financial Controller

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?

Since 2016.

What are some of your everyday tasks?

Some of my everyday tasks include ensuring & supervising the timely, correct and complete processing of the administrative processes within My Jewellery in order to prepare reliable management information for the management teams.

What makes this job so sparkling for you?

My Jewellery has seen huge growth both nationally and internationally, and it’s a great challenge to compare our financial projections with the actual results and to adjust them accordingly. 

What do you enjoy most about being part of team Finance?

It’s great to see how new members of the team are trained within their role to independently and accurately perform their tasks. That way we guarantee a financial team that is dependable and will manage My Jewellery well.

Ilona Brugman-Verhagen - Admin & payroll assistant

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?

Since August 2019.

What are some of your everyday tasks?

Processing salary administration, submitting changes/mutations, paying out salaries and, I’m also responsible for our debtors’ status.

What makes this job so sparkling for you?

The people around me and the chances you’re offered at My Jewellery really make this a sparkling place to work. I’m truly grabbing this opportunity with both hands. Finally, I love how everyone here is so full of energy and super driven to succeed. 

What do you enjoy most about being part of team Finance?

It’s really enjoyable, we work great together and there’s loads of opportunities to learn.

Anouk van Veen - Returns admin

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?

I’ve been at My Jewellery for the past 2.5 years

What are some of your everyday tasks?

Crediting all the returns processed by our warehouse - we receive digital packaging slips, which means we can easily process them, though some packages require a little more detective work. Occasionally, our customers don’t leave their contact details, in which case we liaise with our customer service team to determine the arrangements that were made with the customer. You can really tell that we’re growing and becoming more international, because we’re getting more and more international orders, particularly from Germany.

What makes this job so sparkling for you?

Working hard to process all of your return orders! I also get a lot of job satisfaction from being part of such a fun team. I really appreciate the amount of passion everyone here shares for the company and their job, and the teamwork between every department is great too. You can really tell that everyone enjoys working here and truly puts all their effort into making the company the best it can be! 

What do you enjoy most about being part of team Finance?

Everyone is willing to help and support each other. Personally, I think you can learn a lot here, and there’s time and space to do that too. Plus, let’s not forget the fun team and great people.

Chantal van Nimwegen - Admin assistant

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?

5 years

What are some of your everyday tasks?

My daily tasks include checking, registering and archiving incoming and outgoing invoices, preparing payments, processing bank transactions, communicating with suppliers/clients about unpaid invoices and/or other invoice related questions. I also support the creation of our monthly reports and annual accounts for The Netherlands and Belgium. Finally, I’m involved in processing our returns.

What makes this job so sparkling for you?

Our company culture and our colleagues make this job so sparkling to me, and the fact that everyone is willing to help each other out to achieve a goal. I also really enjoy the challenge of the job, and the fact that our growth comes with added challenges, new rules and different workflows etc. There’s definitely never a dull moment!  

What do you enjoy most about being part of team Finance?

Our finance team is a fun and diverse team. Everyone is different, but that’s part of what makes it so enjoyable.

Macy Hofs - Admin assistant

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?

I started in January 2022

What are some of your everyday tasks?

I process all purchasing invoices and email inboxes, and besides that I mostly try to learn as much about Finance as possible from my colleagues. 

What makes this job so sparkling for you?

The main thing that makes this job so sparkling is the company culture at My Jewellery. I think one of our biggest strengths is that despite the size of our company, every department is still connected and that’s how we can keep growing and developing. 

What do you enjoy most about being part of team Finance?

I love being a part of the Finance team as we have a great time together and always help each other when we can.

Francis Koenen - Financial Controller

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?

Since February 2021

What are some of your everyday tasks?

I’m involved in the Planning & Control cycle. This includes budgets, actuals and figure analysis, all so we can provide and guide management with the correct and complete information picture. 

What makes this job so sparkling for you?

The growth of the company, both online and offline (at our boutiques and B2B customers) and our international growth. 

What do you enjoy most about being part of team Finance?

I have great colleagues, so it’s very enjoyable.
