Daily tasks
Every day is different at Product Photography, the team that’s responsible for all of the product images and model images for the My Jewellery website. The product images for jewellery, hair accessories and bags as well as the model images are made using the Styleshoots Eclipse machine. The photographers shoot 3 images and 1 video of each product using the Eclipse machine. Meanwhile, clothes are hung on a clothes hanger and photographed using the large machine. Once all of the required images are made, it’s all added to the website manually.
Besides creating all of the product images, our Product Photography team also takes model shots. Together with our Buying department, the teams put together clothing sets to shoot on the models, after which Naomi and Sophie do their makeup and Desiree styles their hair. Finally, Product Photography makes sure all of our products are posted to the website on time and that everything is up-to-date at all times

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?
I started in February 2022, and so far it’s been nothing but fun!
What makes this job so challenging and sparkling for you?
Firstly, this is by far the best job I’ve ever had. Besides the fact that we make a really great team, I also really enjoy the variety in my job. One day you’ll be working with a model, shooting her and having to be really social and chatty, and the next you’ll be working with inanimate products. Whenever we’re not doing either of those things, you’ll find us in our special jewellery photography machine, shooting all of our latest jewellery collections. Finally, the cherry on top of the cake is when we get to edit all of our images so they’re completely ready for the website! I’d say that’s the definition of a challenging and sparkling job, wouldn’t you?!
What have you been most proud of so far?
I’d have to say my first model shoot. Before I started at My Jewellery I trained to be a makeup artist, so I’ve always been surrounded by models, but whenever I’d finish their hair and makeup I’d hand them over to the photographers and wait for the finished results. Now that I've actually learnt the art of photography, I have to say it was really exciting to do the hair & makeup and then shoot the model myself as well! I loved being a part of the whole process and I have to say I’m pretty proud of that.
What do you enjoy most about being part of team Product Photography?
As I said the job is really varied, but ultimately, if I look at the complete picture of my work week, I’d have to say that my colleagues are what make this job so much fun! We’ve become great friends who laugh hard, and work hard!

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?
It’s been a year now, time flies!
What makes this job so challenging and sparkling for you?
We create both the product and the model images with the main goal being to create the most attractive image you can. I’d say coming up with surprising and innovative images time and again is one of the main challenges.
What have you been most proud of so far?
That’s an easy one! It has to be the shoot I did for the mother-daughter collection, as I really enjoyed working with Nina and our mini-model Vie! I was also really pleased with the images I created for the Mood collection, a collection of rings, necklaces and earrings.

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?
I did a six month product photography internship at My Jewellery back in 2015, and after my internship I was lucky enough to be offered a job, so at this point I’ve happily been at My Jewellery for the past 6 years!
What makes this job so challenging and sparkling for you?
The job is especially challenging because the tasks are so varied and fun! I most enjoy seeing the results of our photoshoots with models because they’re always so fun. We tend to get a lot of great images from those shoots so selecting our favourites can be really tricky. I love to be creative and express that creativity in ideas for collections and shoots.
What have you been most proud of so far?
I’m really proud of the shoot we did with model Lois for the Christmas newsletter, where we shot our party collection on a black background, because it turned out so cool. I also loved my shoot with model Esra, she was here for the first time and the images turned out absolutely gorgeous! We’ve shot a lot of models to figure out who best suits the My Jewellery brand, and now we’ve got a whole host of great models to work with which makes shooting so enjoyable. Having a team of models that you work with regularly and getting to be creative with each other is really fun.
What do you enjoy most about being part of team Product Photography?
We’ve got a really fun team of girls and we’re all really close, because we match so well with each other, which has created a really pleasant work environment. We’re also really open with each other, so we share everything with each other and laugh a lot too!

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?
I started at My Jewellery in March of 2022
What makes this job so challenging and sparkling for you?
No two days are the same, which makes it very challenging. Every day is about making sure we deliver the best finished result and that everything is uploaded to the website on time for the deadline.
What have you been most proud of so far?
I’m really proud of every shoot I’ve worked on so far, but if I have to choose just one, it would be the shoot we did with our model Chiana, because when I saw those images online I really loved them. I’m also proud of the images we shot for the Summer Souvenirs collection.
What do you enjoy most about being part of team Product Photography?
It’s a really fun team and the girls feel like friends I can share everything with. We work really well together and make sure to always deliver great results.

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?
I joined the photography team in September 2022, but before that I’d also interned for the team in 2017 and I’m so happy I got to come back.
What makes this job so challenging and sparkling for you?
I enjoy every aspect of the job, because I’ve always enjoyed photography and editing, but if I have to choose my favourite aspect I would say photoshoots with models are what I enjoy doing most and they also energise me most. When shooting our models we’re also responsible for styling our models’ hair, makeup, jewellery, clothing and accessories which allows us to create innovative and creative images. Besides all of that I love it when we get to express our creativity when photographing new collections and making them truly shine. Overall my absolute favourite thing is seeing my work on the website and making sure our customers get inspired by the most attractive images. I suppose the most challenging aspect of my job is that every day can be totally different which requires a certain flexibility and willingness to change up plans at the last minute.
What have you been most proud of so far?
I’m especially proud of the images for the products that become bestsellers because the images helped to make them sell well. Every shoot I do I’m pleased with the results and I always try to make the most of the shoot, so we can post the best images on the website.
What do you enjoy most about being part of team Product Photography?
I love spending my day taking photos and using Photoshop doing hair, makeup and styling whilst surrounded by clothing, jewellery and accessories. I also love working with such a fun team of colleagues who have become more like friends - we even see each other outside of work a lot too! We have fun but also know we can always rely on each other to get things done.

How long have you been working at My Jewellery?
I started in a new role as product photographer for B2B and Marketplace at My Jewellery about 2 months ago.
How would you describe your role within the Product Photography team?
On a daily basis I’m in charge of creating product images for jewellery and accessories for our marketplaces such as Zalando. I use Photoshop to edit them and then send them on to the relevant recipient. For B2B I do a weekly photoshoot where I shoot images of certain setups for new products and collections within the showroom and then send those images to our B2B customers.
What makes this job so challenging and sparkling for you?
For me the main challenge lies in being as efficient as possible, and also photographing our products attractively within the limits of certain guidelines. Furthermore, this is an entirely new role so setting it up properly has also proved to be a challenge. The team, the business and the atmosphere at work provide all of the sparkle.
What have you been most proud of so far?
That’s difficult to say, because I haven’t been here very long, but I’d say that I’m very pleased with how the first creative images that I created in the showroom turned out. I’m sure there will be loads more opportunities for great shoots and images to come though.
What do you enjoy most about being part of team Product Photography?
Being able to work with gorgeous products day in, day out, and creating attractive images for our customers with them is really fun. Plus, the days are really varied which makes it challenging and fun.
